Leap into Literacy supports the joy of reading and helps improve literacy levels with The Great Book Swap!

Let’s Improve literacy levels and help spread the joy of reading.

Leap into Literacy is fundraising for The Indigenous Literacy Foundation via the Great Book Swap. They are helping to raise awareness and improve literacy for students who may not be given the opportunity of learning to read and are missing out on this lifelong skill. One of the three core programs of The Indigenous Literacy Foundation is ‘Book Supply’. So far, through the Great Book Swap, the Indigenous Literacy Foundation have supplied over 200 000 culturally appropriate books to 250 remote communities.

The Great Book Swap is a fantastic way to celebrate reading locally, and raise much-needed funds for remote communities. Schools, workplaces, book clubs and all kinds of organisations can host one. The idea is to swap a favourite book in exchange for another, for a gold coin or note donation.

Leap into Literacy will be hosting a Great Book Swap on Wednesday September 6 from 3.30-5.30pm. Come to our tutoring centre at 6/171 Victoria Rd, Drummoyne to participate in The Great Book Swap! Please visit us and browse for a book you would like to take in exchange for a gold coin or note donation into our donation box. We will have a table set up for you to pop in and have a look. All funds raised will be donated to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation who will use these funds to gift books to children in remote communities.

Let us all join in to help improve literacy levels across Australia!
